After sending out my survey of questions for ideas for my front cover of my music magazine, I have got my results. Here I will analyse them:

Here is one of the questions I asked with a bar graph to represent my results. The title BPM was the most popular for people inside my target audience who answered my online questionnaire. I like this name very much and I will be using this title for my magazine because it is short and 'punchy'. It will not be forgotten by customers. The word beat can be used in a musical sense as a musical beat depicting a tempo, meter or a specific rhythm. For example Electric vibes is an effective name but I would argue that it is too long.

Here is the next question I asked my target audience. There is one clear favourite fort this question which is A DJ on the decks. I presented these results in a pie chart as it conveys clearly which answer was a favourite to my target audience. I think that A DJ on the decks will be a good image for my main cover photo because it portrays the genre correctly as I would argue that a DJ reflects EDM in a correct way. I will not be using fans in a nightclub as it would be harder to produce the photo. However I think that with fans in a picture there is no real focus whereas with one DJ and his decks you can really focus on the image and see all the different features of it.

The next question I asked was related to the cover line

For the cover line of my front cover I have been researching on the internet and have found some DJ name generating websites. For example http://rumandmonkey.com/widgets/toys/namegen/3675/#.VIV5of1B2Iw and http://www.fantazia.org.uk/interactive/djname_generator.htm

The name that have come up are effective and relevant to electronic dance music. However I will not be using any of them as some of the ones that appeared were inappropriate.

Here is a list of fonts I have shortlisted for the masthead of my magazine from the website: www.dafont.com.

I have chosen the name "BPM" (meaning beats per minute) because I think it will be the best for my magazine genre and target audience. One reason being that it is a short and punchy title that will not be forgotten. I hope that people understand that it stands for beats per minute. The word beats conveys a musical tempo, meter and rhythms.

Another popular font that some of my target audience chose was "Shuffle". I think this is a good font but not as effective as "BPM". One thing that "BPM" offers that none of the others do is that it is a name that customers will not forget as it is short and easy to remember.

The font I am deciding to use is the one which was most popular to the people I asked inside my target audience. This one has proven to be the most effective and I like this font very much. the most popular is the one with the largest quantity of ticks. I asked my audience to the tick their favourite one. I also like the most popular one because it has a style to it that links to my chosen genre of EDM.

Here is a link to a survey I have created on survey monkey. This survey is my audience research on the ideas I have got in my mind for what I want my magazine to look like. The results of this survey will be important because other peoples opinions are vital in designing a successful magazine. It is not compulsory  that I follow these suggestions but they are a guideline of advice to help me when making the magazine.
